Hello everyone and welcome to the inaugural player draft! Exciting times!
The draft will officially start on Tuesday (the 7th) at 00:00 GMT/19:00 ET, though there’s nothing to stop people getting started immediately. The clock won’t start until Tuesday night though.
Hopefully you’re all clear with the rules (which you can find here: thestrengthtobethere.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=rules&action=display&thread=2) but these are the basics:
• Owners have 24 hours to make each pick
• If you don’t make your pick within 24 hours you will be automatically given the highest-ranked next available player from ESPN’s player rankings (link to come, when rankings are online)
• If you know you’re not going to be around to make your pick/s please send a short list to someone who can make them on your behalf
• Please make sure you PM the next person once you’ve made your pick.
I’ll be keeping a record of the players taken in the Draft Results thread, which I’ll hopefully be able to keep up-to-date throughout the draft, so it’s a good idea to check there before a pick to make sure the player hasn’t already been taken.
Also please note that, although everyone has 24 hours per pick, in practice the draft will need to go a lot quicker than that as we’ve got 30 rounds to get through in about 50 days. So please do try to make your picks as swiftly as possible.
Feel free to discuss the draft in this thread, as it progresses. While it’s probably not the greatest idea to spill your guts about the secrets of your draft strategy, if anyone wants to comment on players taken or anything like that then this is the place to do it.
Anyway that’s enough about the rules, let’s get this thing started!
